Educational poverty exists in a vacuum of literacy skills. Few schools have in class libraries and resources to adequately teach reading in addition to the other basic subjects of math and science.  Most schools have very little books in a library or no books at all. Those who do, have mostly out dated books, thus the library is never used.

The Simba Foundation donors are making a difference by provide funds to ship much need classroom libraries for teachers and complete libraries for schools.  In addition to providing libraries, continuing education workshops are provided to teachers on how to use the library in their daily teaching of reading, reading comprehension and vocabulary development.
